Benefits of Membership

Since being founded in 1989, FWC has grown to be recognized as the largest and fastest-growing local women’s organization in the state.  We have accomplished this by identifying our members’ needs and offering benefits that meet those needs.

Communication
Staying in touch with our members is key to our success.  E-mail notifications regarding current bid opportunities, bid meetings, and upcoming industry events keep our members up to date with project information.  Also, the FWC's Executive Director serves as an intermediary for members on issues regarding certification and payment issues with agencies.

Networking
Industry speakers provide information on upcoming job opportunities at our member meetings, which are held monthly in convenient locations, and our Annual Awards Reception attracts over 1,000 participants.

Education
Industry-related seminars and workshops are sponsored by FWC and are offered in conjunction with our affiliate organizations, ASA, HACIA, BCU, AACE, WBDC, U.S. Dept. of Labor and the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Advocacy
Lobbyists in Chicago, Springfield and Washington, D.C., work directly for FWC to keep members abreast of pending legislation and ordinances that affect the construction industry.
